Brisbane Lions over Collingwood Magpies. This should be a great game in Brisbane. Could go either way but going for the Lions at home.
Western Bulldogs over Melbourne Demons.
Adelaide Crows over West Coast Eagles. I'm hoping the Crows can win in Adelaide. Should be another great game. Brad Ebert makes his AFL debut for the Eagles. He is the son of Craig Ebert who is the brother of the legend SANFL and AFL player Russell Ebert. Craig also played SANFL.
St Kilda Saints over Carlton Blues.
Fremantle Dockers over Hawthorn Hawks. Another tough one to pick but going for the Dockers at home in Perth.
Sydney Swans over Port Adelaide Pap Smears. Another tough one. I know Kev doesn't like going for the Paps. The Swans can win at home in Sydney.
Geelong Cats over Essendon Bombers. The reigning Premiers the Cats should win but the Bombers could push them.
North Melbourne Kangaroos over Richmond Tigers. Another very possible close game. The Tigers had a good win in week 1. Going for the Kangaroos.

Wow! This was big yesterday. I believe Jim Rome has about 5 million listeners daily. He is the biggest sports radio guy in USA with his show going to many USA markets. Many places in Canada also carry his daily 3 hour sports radio show.

I just subscribed to his online pod cast to re listen and I was on for 3 minutes without him interrupting at all. He bagged me a bit after the 3 minutes saying "I didn't understand Myk, I heard about Brett Favre and Darren Bennett." but then he said "No Myk I did understand you. That was Myk for 3, 5, 8 minutes however long that was and yes we do see Myk down at Super Bowl's in the Media Centre. That was Myk Aussie in Calgary". If you can't listen here's what I said. I mentioned Aussie Rules Football several times on The Jim Rome Show including saying NFL is the equal best game in the World along with Aussie Rules Football. I talked about how Darren Bennett changed the NFL the way NFL punters now punt using the Aussie Rules Footy drop punt when they need to land the ball inside the 20 yard line. I also talked about Aussies Mat McBriar, Ben Graham and Sav Rocca currently punting in the NFL along with how the Pittsburg Steelers punter Daniel Sepulveda who is from the USA learnt and effectively uses the Aussie drop punt.

If you can't listen here's what I said. Seeing Jim introduced me as Myk in Calgary I started my sports talking about The Flames Jarome Iginla being one of the best hockey players in the World and about Dion Phaneuf and his apparent new Cwoc actress girlfriend Elisha Cuthbert.

I then also talked about NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman doing something good last year in regards to I believe helping in getting Paris Hilton locked up right at the time that the Stanley Cup was doing the rounds of LA last year so that she wouldn't be able to get her dirty rotten stinking mouth etc all over The Stanley Cup. You know what I mean? Paris just has to be in the limelight and I know she would have been hanging out with the Anaheim Mighty Donald Disney Duck players or whatever their name is and The Stanley Cup.

Contd from NFL webWORLD! Green Bay Packers legend Quarterback Brett Favre has retired! I tried to hunt down and interview Brett in the locker rooms after a loss to the Vikings in Minnesota several years ago on a Monday night. This is a very interesting part of "Football Fan Frenzy" the movie/documentary! 
This was obviously Huge sports radio and TV talk this week as Brett is a absolute legend. After several years of Brett contemplating retiring and then coming back many thought that he would go again after leading the Packers to the NFC Championship game and himself having a great year. This was not to be and today Brett announced his retirement via a voice message to a ESPN sports reporter. Brett said that although physically he could go again it was mentally very draining for him in preparing each week. I would have a guess we will now enjoy listening to Brett from the commentary box or on one of the major networks NFL panel. I hope so. What a pleasure it has been to watch Brett play this great game. 

After several of my mates in Vancouver were huge Packer fans and myself liking them because they are Australia's Colors I tried to interview Brett in the locker rooms after a loss to the Vikings in Minnesota several years ago on a Monday night. Opinion has it this is a funny and quite interesting part of my movie/documentary "Football Fan Frenzy" as I wear my Green and Gold Woodville Warriors SANFL Aussie Footy jersey and Green and Gold Aussie hat to the game, on the sidelines and then into the Packers locker rooms. I however made a mistake and learnt the hard way. Don't go into a losing teams locker rooms for interviews as some officials are not to keen on media people after a loss. On this night one Packers official for no apparent reason got upset with me. I had a official NFL media pass from the Vikings organization but..... Hmmmmm. 

This is the 1st time I have ever told the full story. For some Hardcore reasons here goes! So this is what happened. My media pass said Myk Harrison. As I was heading to the Packers locker rooms after interviewing ABC's Leslie Visser on the sidelines I walked past some ladies or should I just say women cops on the way to the Packers locker rooms. I was a little confident and said "Hi ladies. Are you having fun" or something similar. I purposely showed them my media pass to avoid any possible trouble and all seemed cool. So then I'm in the Packers locker rooms as mentioned in my Green and Gold outfit and a damn ball steward or dirty footy gear official or similar came up to me for no apparent reason and wanted me out. So I left the room and then put on a sweater over my Aussie footy jersey and went back in. At this stage I had done nothing wrong. The same guy or should I say "low type Big headed sore loser official" then recognized me and again wanted me out. So I leave and this time Crazingly one of the women cops wants to talk to me after this "low type Big headed sore loser official" complained to her about me simply standing in the locker rooms before I was wanting to interview Brett. I tell the women cop I've done nothing wrong which is 100% true. She looks at my media pass then wants to see my ID. So I show her my Canadian and Australian Drivers licenses. Well here is where I had some bad luck. Both my Drivers licenses say my real name which is not Myk Harrison but Myk backwards thus Kym Andrew Harrison. The women cop not lady then basically walks me out holding my arm in a firm manner and says I'm lucky I'm not on the 1st boat home to Australia. Un farking believable. What did I do wrong? Damn well nothing but I know one thing at this stage I simply had to keep my mouth 100% shut accept the fact this woman cop was a farking glory seeker that needed to earn her money on this night and she could have caused me major trouble. Maybe some Aussie had banged her in the past and then dumped her.

I then went and meet up with some great Vikings fans and ended up at a Hotel room party till 4 am. I then went straight back to my hotel room to grab my bags and straight to the airport for my return trip to Vancouver via Denver. What a wild but great night. This above is a 100% true story. This is in the movie/documentary "Football Fan Frenzy" and maybe this is why it happened, to have a great true Brett Favre hunting story in my movie/documentary. As I said recently to Scotty a mate here in Calgary we will need to re enact some of this as it is not 100% clear in the movie. You can see the women cops as I walk past them on the way to the Packer rooms and the "low type Big headed sore loser official" walk towards my camera. 

Oh now I get it. I should not have worn my trade mark Green and Gold Aussie hat and a Green and Gold Aussie Footy jersey. OK. So seems I did do something wrong. Bullshit!  

So there goes I never got to met and interview Brett. Then at the 3 NFL Pro Bowl after this night that I had official NFL Media passes Brett withdrew from the Pro Bowls. Let me know if any of you guys or gals want a copy of the movie/documentary "Football Fan Frenzy". 

Cricket, Aussie allrounder Andrew Symonds takes out a streaker at the Gabba in Brisbane, Australia with a Aussie Rules Footy style bump with some elbow! 
This story made Canadian Sports News Wednesday night as the guys were talking about it on The Score TV.  The streaker Robert Ogilvie 26 was fined $1,390 by the court. He pleaded guilty saying he was dared to run onto the Gabba field naked by his friends and he said it felt "great" to be crunched by Symonds. The Crazy Aussie. No doubt he had lots of Crazy Aussie beer in his guts to do this. Probably that XXXX beer.

"The Dog" a legend caller from Montreal on Sports Rage Sirius Satellite radio last night was talking about this and in a way saying to me that we are a bit screwed up in Aussie. He talked about this question on radio.

Another question requires players to say what they'd do if they are with a girl who has had too much to drink. "A) Get her some water? B) Call her a taxi? or C) Take her back to your place for sex?" are among the responses. For the article on HeraldSun.com.au Click here

My advice to Aussie's and especially Aussie Footy players whether in Australia or say here in Western Canada on the question above is this 1) The very 1st thing to find out after you introduce yourself is to find out if she is Married. If she is then B is the correct answer. A is not the correct answer because if she is married she shouldn't be in the Bar drunk in the 1st place or you need to get away from her where ever you are.

If she is not married then several options are available. If you are drunk yourself then C Take her back to your place for sex? could be going through your screwed up drunk brain even if she is not that hot. Thus it may be the case of wanting to "chew ya arm off in the morning" to escape out of your own bed. Now the difficulty comes as she's at your house and all you want to do is get her out and you tell yourself you are never drinking again. Going to her house would have been the better option here if you did leave the bar with her as this makes for a quick exit but you are probably again telling yourself you are never drinking again. At least wear a raincoat (condom) if your screwed up drunk brain got you in this situation.

Now, if she is a hot babe, not married and you are both drunk and C is very close to becoming a reality I "suggest" being a nice guy, put here on your couch at your place and then make her tea or coffee and breakfast in the morning. That way you might end up with a hot girlfriend.

If you are sober, she is hot and not married then A Get her some water? followed by B Call her a taxi? is the way to go. That way you get to chat to her for a bit and then she's home safely "hopefully" in a cab. Make sure to get her phone number or Facebook name and call her or Facebook her next day. Then again you may end up with a Hot girlfriend.

After doing A Get her some water and you realize that she is a average person in personality or a bitch I suggest to get the hell out of there. Get the barman to call her a cab. Don't even waste your cell/mobile phone minutes on her. I hope this advice helps.

A Cricket Story from Youngy Miller!
God asks Donald Bradman: "What do you believe?"
Donald thinks long and hard, looks God in the eye, and says,
"I believe in hard work, and in staying true to family and friends. I
believe in giving.
I was lucky, but I always tried to do right by my fans."
God can't help but see the essential goodness of Bradman,
and offers him a seat to his left.
Then God turns to Allan Border and says,
"What do you believe?"
Allan says, "I believe passion, discipline, courage and honor are the
fundamentals of life. I, too, have been lucky, but win or lose, I've
always tried to be a true sportsman, both on and off the playing
fields."
God is greatly moved by Allan's sincere eloquence, and he offers him a
seat to his right.
Finally, God turns to Ricky Ponting:
"And you, Ricky, what do you believe?"
Ricky replies, "I believe you're in my seat."

From Sat, Jan 26, 08. Australia Day/Night Jan 26 in Calgary with the Calgary Kangaroos, Bears and Cwoc Kookaburras!
If you are in or near Calgary I hope you can come and join the Calgary Kangaroos, Bears and Kookaburras which is the Cwoc ladies team for Australia Day/Saturday night tonight Jan 26th at Dickens Pub in downtown Calgary. Last year was a great night as we packed out the largish Sports Bar. There will be a band playing, Aussie Beer specials, a Aussie raffle including Aussie wines, Vegemite and Bundy. It should again be a huge night.

Australia Day! A great poem sent today from Macca the 07 Calgary Kangaroo.
Australians are a funny lot, you'll often hear one curse,
How things have started badly, and they'll probably get worse,
The weathers dry, the sun's so hot it's stolen all the water,
The Government has never done the things we think they oughta'.

But if we hear a tourist say his home is much more grand,
They had better be prepared to make a very solid stand.
For although we Aussies may complain at what's become our lot,
When someone knocks this country, we defend with all we've got.

We may criticize some teenage brat, may even wish them failure,
But we stand behind them cheering when they're playing for Australia.
Because, if this is home to you, the country of your birth,
Then you back the native player to beat anyone on Earth.
