Super Bowl bets! My 1st Super Bowl novelty prop bet!

I'm going for the Patriots more from the heart than the head. At Sportsinteraction.com I placed a bet on the Patriots at -2.5. I also went for the under total which is 54 points. It should be a great Super Bowl.

My 1st Super Bowl novelty prop bet is, "How many times will David Tyree's 2008 Super Bowl catch be shown on TV during the game?" I took "Over 1". I liked Jim Romes advice today on this bet.

I've been in sports bars watching the Super Bowl and some people laugh at the average commercials just for the hell of laughing. Some are very good though.

It really annoys me how so much emphasis is put on the number of Super Bowls a quarterback has won by the media! I firmly believe Peyton is the best quarterback ever and possibly the best player ever in the NFL!

Damn, it's a "team game"! Yeh I know the quarterback is the most important position but come on. There are many other players in the team, offence, defense and special teams thus a team game.

I get so sick of much of the media saying things like "Peyton couldn't beat Tom Brady in the playoffs. He only has one Super Bowl win." Again it's a team game. Most NFL players also many times say its a team game and winning the Super Bowl is by far the most important reason they play the great game for. I say rubbish on this! Why are "some/way too many" NFL players in it for themselves, showing off too much after a play, doing as much radio and TV as they can to make a name for themselves and moving from team to team for more money. This annoys me, there is very little loyalty to "their" so called precious team in many cases.

Unfortunately, I firmly believe most NFL players consider money as the number 1 reason for the playing the great game, not winning the Super Bowl as they often say!

Peyton Manning has one Super Bowl ring. This year proves my point, the Colts were terrible without Peyton Manning. After being here in North America the past 14 years studying the NFL and from everything I have read and watched on TV, I firmly believe Peyton is the best quarterback ever and possibily the best player ever in the NFL! As a fan of Peyton and the NFL I look forward to seeing him play again!

AFC Patriots to defeat Ravens. NFC 49ers to defeat the Giants. Maybe I'm going with my heart in picking the 49ers.

NFL bets. On SportsInteraction.com I took Patriots on the Moneyline (which is for the win) but Ravens at +7.5. I took the 42 point under in the 49ers vs Giants game. It could be wet in San Fran and I also think and hope the 49ers will stop the Giants scoring somewhat. Maybe the Giants receivers will again have a case of "droppsey the passes". Cant wait till Sunday @bartscott.

NFL Wild Card weekend picks! NFL bets! Broncos play the Steelers in Wild Card weekend of the playoffs!

NFL picks to win are Texans, Saints, Falcons, Steelers but I'm really hoping Broncos.

At Sportsinteraction.com I placed bets on Texans to win at -4 and also on the Moneyline (straight win). I also placed bets on Falcons at +3 and on the moneyline. My 5th bet was on Broncos at +9.

I had a very average week 17 NFL picks and bets. I dropped from 8th to 12th in Nasty Nates great tipping contest. I thus picked Patriots in Pool B after I belived I have more chance of making better money if Patriots get to the AFC Championship game than if I picked one of the remaining teams in Pool A. The Packers were taken in Pool B by D Lind with the 7th pick. I had the choice of selecting Bengals, Texans or Lions in Pool A. Broncos were taken in Pool A by Harrow with the 11th pick. My NCAA footy mate Buckeye John Schick finished 1st and selected Packers in Pool A. Pool A obviously has a bigger payout than Pool B. I won this great unique competition when the Saints won the Super Bowl.

I'm liking the Broncos to defeat the Dolphins. I just placed a bet on them at +1.5 on Sportsinteraction.com. I don't think I'll tweet at Tim this though! He might tell me off. Ahhhh!

I seriously think Tim can be like Michael Vick was at the Falcons. Run alot and throw some TD's thus be a dominant player in the offence. I'm really hoping that I'll be wearing the Tim Tebow jersey that I got last year with alot of pride for the rest of the NFL season. I washed it on Monday ready for Sunday.

Tim has looked damn good when he has played for the Broncos. I know one thing for sure, he is very exciting to watch.

NFL week 1 report from Nasty Nate! Nasty Nate runs the excellent NFL tipping contest that I am in!

"It was a pretty nice opening Sunday in the NFL.  As much as I hate Peyton, I think it became crystal clear today that he is undoubtedly the most valuable football player to his team in the NFL. I'm not saying he's the best player, but if you take the true definition of MVP (causing the biggest negative impact in his absence) then Manning should probably win the award annually. It was fun to see them get slaughtered though. Kerry Collins literally looked 58 years old.

I also thoroughly enjoyed the Ravens thrashing the Curtain (mostly cause I won my first $20 from Sean Germann this season - more to come sucker!) as the Ravens are always an awesome team that can just never seem to beat the Steelers. Now we'll have to wait and see if they can pull that off in the playoffs.

The Seahawks looked about how I expected them to look, well on their way to 5-11. I've also gotta give some love to the Lions for a solid opening week road win. Remember when they used to go an average of 2-3 years without a win on the road? I think this will be a big year for the Lions as long as Stafford doesn't get hurt. I'm saying 10-6 and a wildcard spot. I'll also give a shout out to Dave Madzia's Bills who have achieved a winning record for the first time since Dave was in Kindergarten." Nasty Nate

Patriots 13/2, Packers 7/1, Eagles 9/1, Chargers 11/1, Falcons 14/1, Jets 14/1, Steelers 14/1, Ravens 16/1, Cowboys 16/1, Colts 16/1, Saints 16/1, Giants 22/1, Texans 25/1, Bears 28/1, Lions 30/1, Vikings 30/1, Bucs 30/1, Chiefs 40/1, Rams 40/1 (really?) 49ers 45/1, Dolphins 50/1. (too high)

Raiders 55/1, Cardinals 60/1, Titans 65/1, Broncos 75/1 (I don't think I'll be laying $$ on my fav team but with Big John Elway in charge Broncos should be better), Jags 75/1, Seahawks 75/1.

Bengals 100/1, Browns 100/1, Redskins 100/1, Bills 150/1, Panthers 150/1. (I believe these 5 teams should have way higher odds.)

In the AFC I'm liking Patriots at 13/2 and Jets at 14/1. In the NFC I'm liking Packers at 7/1 and Eagles at 9/1. I'm also thinking the Cowboys will have a good year and a real chance with Jason Garrett the "tougher" new coach and with Tony Romo back from injury at QB but they are the unpredicatable Cowboys.
